Green is the new SEXY!

Sex sells.

Marketing companies have capitalised on this fact for decades. We’ve all watched Mad Men. We know how it works. But sex has a competitor…being GREEN is the new sexy.

Slap on a label saying “green” or “eco-friendly” and we are gobbling up products like Easter chocolates. Are we really this naive? Marketing trends suggest that we are.

This earth month take a look around your home, how many products are loaded with nature harming chemicals yet claiming to be “earth friendly” or “environmental”. We’re not going to call out the culprits. They know who they are. But we urge you to think before you buy. Read the label, don’t get sucked into the pretty pictures of trees and flowers. Shop locally, ask questions and use your smarts!

Terrachoice Environmental Marketing dissected more than 2000 products claiming to be environmentally responsible. Only 25 made the cut. Disappointing fact. For more information on this take a look at David Suzuki’s Queen of Green blog: http://www.davidsuzuki.org/what-you-can-do/queen-of-green/faqs/cleaning/how-to-avoid-greenwashing/?gclid=CIWa-vy6rLYCFa1xQgodJzYADA

Everything we do has an impact on the environment. By following the three R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle) we can hopefully minimize this impact. Our FrogBoxes are a convenient, affordable and sustainable alternative to cardboard. FrogBoxes can be re-used around 400 times before they have to be recycled and sent to the green land in the sky (to be converted into other awesome products!). http://frogbox.com/blog/2012/02/cardbored-using-frogbox-moving-boxes-vs-cardboard So next time you move ditch the cardboard and order some reusable moving boxes.

There will be no greenwashing in the Frog house!
