What is Earth Day?

Earth Day is an environmental movement that began in the U.S.A in 1970. Earth Day became Earth Week and has since evolved into Earth Month.

Earth Day is recognized by 1 billion people in 170 countries and has matured into a powerful catalyst for environmental change. Earth Day provides a platform to initiate environmental projects, stage events and address environmental issues.

What can I do to get involved?

There are plenty of events happening across Canada and the U.S.A this earth month. Take a look at the following links for an event near you:

Make every day Earth Day!

5 Simple changes that can have a major impact on the Earth:

  1. Walking/biking to work a few times a week or switching your car for public transit.
  2. Carry reusable water bottles / coffee mugs. Reduce it and reuse it before you recycle it!
  3. Pop a reusable grocery bag into your backpack and never take a plastic grocery bag home again!
  4. Upcycle your wardrobe/furniture. Get creative, host a swap meet and try not to buy “new” all the time!
  5. When you next move, reUSE FROGBOXes. Ditch the cardboard and rent some FROGBOX reusable moving boxes!
