This weeks Franchise of the week Q & A – Winnipeg

Local Website: www.frogbox.com/winnipeg

What areas do you service?:
The City of Winnipeg (pop 684,000 ish) www.winnipeg.ca. We also serve “surrounding areas”, but we are not listing them on the website, as it is too confusing. Instead, we are encouraging people to call -also, being new, we just might take an order that is somewhat out of our 'normal' parameters

What would you love to build out of FrogBoxES?
A warming hut for our City's River Skating Trail. Have to wait a few months for that to happen, though. See: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheForksWinnipeg?blend=7&ob=5#p/a/u/1/04yXrjjlRlQ

When did you start to hate cardboard?
Oh I could write a tome in answer to this question ! Not sure what the guys will say, but here  I go… It all started a few years back when I was doing some work for a charitable organization sorting donations. I very quickly discovered the many, many flaws of cardboard boxes:
•     they acquire and then never really lose that awful, stale, musty, kind of like a wet-mushroom aroma
•     they are very attractive to all sorts of icky bugs and other unidentifiables
It was at or about that time that I also discovered I have an allergy to cardboard – well, actually not to the cardboard itself, but to the adhesive resin (PTBP) used in the manufacturing process – and I developed a type of contact dermatitis. My hands became most unattractive…

More recently, just this past December 31, Dave and I moved.[our son also came with us – he was, after all, only 12 then] This is when I discovered my complete ineptitude with those stupidly designed packing tape guns, which unfortunately seem to be a rather integral part of the box assembly process. In addition, both Dave and I can speak to the huge hassle of not only acquiring, but also getting rid of cardboard moving boxes. And where to store assembled, but yet to be packed boxes ? We almost needed to build an addition on the home we were selling !  I could go on and on..

What's the craziest use of a FrogBox you've seen?
Has to be the Kitchener Waterloo Gang's using as pool toys!

Why did you choose to partner with FROGBOX?
– The business model is very good, slick process
– Easy to understand concept
– Represents a growing trend
– Low rise business with decent returns
– Experience within the connection of the Winnipeg Team members are dynamic
– Impressed with Doug Burgoyne and his professionalism

What are your goals for your region?
Quoting Harry: “To become  viable, sustainable and the Company of Choice!”
Dave: ” To make FROGBOX Winnipeg the go-to business for moving box rentals”.
I want the word FROGBOX to become like the word Kleenex – where the brand name represents the product. ( Think about it, who says “paper tissue” anymore ? )

Do you have any message to the people of your area?
Dave: “Think of the environment, think of the convenience, think of FROGBOX Winnipeg”
Harry: ” We`are open, here to serve and will go out of our way to accommodate your needs”
Chris:  “We will strive to make a very stressful time {moving} as easy as possible”
