Sustainability Leaders Gather in Vancouver B.C. for Gaining Ground 2010

Vancouver, B.C. is often perceived as a mecca for sustainability. We are surrounded by an abundance of natural resources and our city consists of many innovative leaders in sustainability. Therefore, it is fitting for Vancouver to host one of the most important sustainability conferences. The dynamic discourse and inspiring speakers have lit-up Vancouver’s downtown core.

This weeks conference contributes to collective efforts to create collaborations across all sectors: business, local government, civic leadership, communities, learning institutions, non-governmental and professional organizations. Can Gaining Ground 2010 create conversations that generate a tangible outcome? If history repeats itself, we will likely yield abundant results. At Gaining Ground 2009,

Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson initiated a friendly competition with the City of Portland. Robertson insists that Vancouver can become the greenest city in the world.

A competition seems suitable, due to the urgent nature of climate change.  At FROGBOX, we respect Gregor Robertson’s competitive approach. Our team consists of people who set personal goals, so that we can run marathons, do yoga daily and ride in bike races. We compete against ourselves. And we are happy to apply this competitive edge to our professional lives. It is essential to constantly strive for excellence in sustainability. Maybe our reusable moving boxes can introduce Vancouverites to the fact that sustainable alternatives are often more efficient and cost effective.
