Howdy Vancouver FrogBoxers. As we’ve grown over the last year, our corporate frogblog has had to expand its scope to share the spotlight across all our locations. And that’s awesome, but we wanted to reinstate a local voice focused on sharing the local stuff. We'll highlight some of our local partnerships with some guest blogging in the coming months. Here we go, Vancouver’s bloggingfrog at your service...

The Inaugural Leos(TM) Award Goes to Start-Up Company FROGBOX to Change the Way People Move

Vancouver-based company wins $250,000 in services from Creative Leader Leo Burnett USA

CHICAGO, April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- As the first-ever winner of The Leos award, FROGBOX, a provider of eco-friendly plastic moving boxes, hopes to leap to the next level of business success by changing the way people move their household belongings.  The Leos award is sponsored jointly by Leo Burnett USA and the Entrepreneurs' Organization, a global network of small business owners and was created to provide strategic and creative services to a deserving up-and-coming company.

Our Bio-Diesel Tendencies

Brian Barr

Here is a picture of Brian Barr, Manager for FROGBOX Seattle, in front of a Propel Fuels bio-diesel station. In both Seattle and Vancouver, FROGBOX uses bio-diesel fuel to power our trucks.

Companies like Propel Fuels are passionate about finding ways to make alternative fuels available to the masses at almost the same price, and we are proud to support what they do.

We also have a solar-powered website!

Record Month!

Moving is easy with FROGBOX!

FROGBOX had yet again our biggest month ever for business in Greater Vancouver, let alone an amazing first few weeks in Seattle. More and more people are renting plastic boxes for moving versus buying new or dumpster diving for used cardboard.

1.5M Cardboard Boxes per Month

Jeff with 400 FROGBOXES!

Pictured above is Jeff Hill, Operating Partner for Seattle. He's showing that a cardboard box can be used twice for moving, while one FROGBOX can be used up to 400 times before its recycled.

In our estimation, Greater Vancouver uses about 450,000 cardboard boxes per month for moving, and Seattle uses about 1 million. That's a heck of a lot of trees going down that don't need to. We encourage you to let people know these alarming statistics. Help us spread the word that FROGBOX wants to rid the Northwest of its dependence on cardboard, one move at a time.

A Worthwhile Day Trip

Last month FrogBox donated some money to the Oregon Spotted Frog Husbandry Program at Mountain View Conservation.  Afterwords, we went on a tour of Mountain View, guided by Andrea, who runs the OSF program.

I highly recommend visiting Mountain View!  It is open to the public and is like nothing you've ever seen. The site is beside Fort Langley, BC, and has 300 acres of fields and small rolling hills right next to the Fraser River.  There are dozens of rare and endangered animals from all over the world that are being preserved or restored in a protective environment.  Take a guided tour through the fields and forests, where you'll see animals that are free to roam around and are well cared for. - Doug
